  • I Thess 1:1: Paul, Silvanus and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace and peace to you. This is unique of the thirteen letters attributed to Paul, in that he does not introduce himself as apostle, servant, or prisoner. He refers to himself simply as Paul. The inclusion of Sylvanus and Timothy suggest that maybe they had a part in the writing of the letter.
  • I Thess 1:6: And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost There's a combination. Joy through affliction?
  • I Thess 1:7 We were ensamples to all that believe It was not Paul's preaching nor his praying alone that won people to the Lord. It was his exemplary life.
  • I Thess 2:10: Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe." It's a powerful statement to be able to call on God as a witness to your holiness.
  • I Thess 3:13: To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameble in holiness before God....at the coming of our Lord jesus Christ with all his saints" Paul prayed night and day that all of God's children would be established holy and unblameable before God.
  • ,u>I Thess 4:3: For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornification If you ever have any doubts about some that is the will of God: this is one of them.
  • I Thess 5: 8: "But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. Faith, hope and charity.
